ADD A BOOKMARK TO EVERY POST

Adding a social bookmark to the end of each post is a great way for readers to save individual articles rather than adding the entire site to favorites and then having to dig for a previous article in archives.

Want to add a social bookmark button to the bottom of each post? This article will give directions on how to add the bookmark and also how to change the color of your post footer. Once complete the changes will appear on all previous and future posts. This will work for blogger, but I cannot guarantee that it will work for other platforms.

First pick a button and get your code from www.addthis.com Then follow the steps below.

ADDING A SOCIAL BOOKMARK

1. Sign in to Blog
2. Go to customize then layout
3. Go to Edit HTML
4. Check expand widget template
5. Instead of scrolling through the whole template searching for this code, click inside the html list so that your cursor is inside. Do a "ctrl F" and a search box will appear. Type in the following code div class='post-footer'and click next. This should highlight the code and take you directly to it.
6. Directly below this line, copy and past the code you got from www.addthis.com
7. Preview before saving to make sure the button is correct. Then save template and you're done.

To change the color of your footer you must first have the code for the color. To find a color and get the code go to "Layout" then "fonts and colors". When you click on a color the code # will appear in the box on the right. When you find the color you want write down the correct code for it. Then go back to your html template. Search for the following code the same way we searched for the first code. You want to find the .post-footer and below that will be "background: #??????" change the 6 character code after the # symbol to the color code you have chosen. Preview then save if you are happy with the changes. Easy as pie.

Good Luck! I hope you found this article useful.

The same code will work for WordPress as well, if it is added to the template for a single post or to the page template just after the post functions.

However, it's a lot easier to install a plugin that can do the job for WordPress users!
