It was New England Patriots vs New York Giants, in Arizona, for SuperBowl XLII 2008. "American Idol" star Jordan Sparks started off the event singing the "Star Spangled Banner" followed by the Giants winning the coin toss to start the game. Even though, at half time, the score was 7 to 3 in New England's favor, the Giant's luck remained to the very end.
It wouldn't be a SuperBowl without hilarious commercials and an awesome half time show. Here is a link that has every commercial categorized by quarter.
http://www.myspace.com/superbowlads Ads included Pepsi, GoDaddy.com, Doritos, E-Trade, Audi and many more. At 2.5 million for only thirty seconds they should grab your interest.

Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, a music icon, Rocked the half-time show. The band played many of their hits including: "American Girl", "Won't Back Down", "Free Fallin" and "Runnin Down a Dream". The show was more than impressive. The crowd went nuts for the group and fans were geared up for the second half of the game.
New England was favored to win the 2008 SuperBowl, but the underdogs prevailed in the end. The New York Giants took the Championship with a final score of 17 - 14. I love it when a plan comes together. Watch highlights of the game here
