DENTAL NIGHTMARE UPDATE

I just wanted to post an update to my "Would Free Health Care Be Like This" article.

My mouth is finally healing after my visit with Dentist Patrick Dermesropian at Bradley Dental Clinic on Tuesday. I still cannot eat on that side of my mouth and the fillings still look horrible. They are not silver or white, but a combination of both.

I cannot floss between my top two back teeth because the fillings are overlapping and the floss can't get in between them. The filling are very rough and do not even have bite marks, like my teeth had before.

I am not grateful for the dental work Illinois Medicaid paid for. I am a firm believer in "If your going to do something, do it right, or don't do it at all". Dr. Patrick definitely does not live by these standards in his life. And I feel very sorry for the other patients whose teeth he has attacked.

Though not great, I'm glad things are getting better.

I live in Toronto, Canada...and we are well known for our "free" healthcare. The term "free" is misleading...nothing in life is free. Although we may not need to pay at the time of visit, a large portion of our income tax goes to health care...and the tax rate in Canada is quite high. In reality, I not only pay for my own health care, but everyone's health care.

The biggest challenge we face is the lack of medical professionals in this country. They tend to leave to practice in other countries because they can make more money. Our so-called "free" health care system is driving away doctors, dentists and others.

The upside is that medical services are available to everyone across the board, regardless of income or status in society...this is a good thing. The quality of service received is also the same across the board.

Hope this comment makes sense...and if not...eh...what can ya do...

YES! The exact clinic. I am still having problems with the fillings. It will be a week tomorrow. I am considering emailing my first article, that names the dentist, to the American Dental Association.

Why would this dentist think that anyone would want their teeth to look like this? I am so upset. I am not going to take my child there because it would ruin his opinion of dentists forever. Tell me about your experience.
